Iceland: National Representative Bryna Ingadottir (non voting)

Dr Brynja Ingadottir is an Icelandic clinical nurse specialist (CNS) and health scientist who received her PhD in 2016 at Linköping University, Sweden. Her doctoral studies focused on patient education and the patient as a learner, particularly in the surgical context, and with special interest in serious games as a media for education.

Brynja has a joint position: at Landspitali – the National University Hospital of Iceland – Surgical Services as a CNS where her work is mainly within development, nurses’ career development and teaching; and at the University of Iceland, Faculty of Nursing as an Assistant Professor. Main research area is patient education (patient education, patient-reported outcomes, health literacy), outcome of surgical patients, the use of serious games, teaching methods and communication curriculum within nursing education.
