EACH is overseen by the EACH Executive Committee.
The EACH Advisory Committee is made up of representatives from all EACH member countries and gives input on EACH activities locally and internationally.
The EACH Networking Committee facilitates networks, both within countries and within disciplines to coordinate their efforts and act together to achieve results for a whole community of healthcare communicators.
EACH works across three broad areas, overseen by our major committees:
Running alongside the core committees, Special Interest Groups (SIGs) allow members with similar interests in a specific subject area to meet and collaborate. In addition, yEACH provides a networking and support group for early career EACH members.

EACH: International Association for Communication in Healthcare was established in 2001 and has achieved charitable status. The charity’s purpose is “the relief of sickness and the preservation of health of patients by the promotion of effective evidence-based patient-centred healthcare communication between patients, relatives and healthcare practitioners throughout the world”.
National Representatives from countries with more than 5 members are eligible to be Trustees of the charity, and also sit on the Advisory Committee.

Patient Education and Counseling (PEC)
EACH is proud to be associated with the scientific journal Patient Education and Counseling. The 2012 impact factor of the journal has increased to 2.372 (Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary ranking: 4 (Q1)). PEC is now definitely the major dedicated healthcare communication research journal.
The Academy of Communication in Healthcare: sister organisation of EACH
The Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH) is the professional home for all those who are committed to improving communication and relationships in healthcare. Its vision is to create a healthcare system where all patients, healthcare professionals, trainees, and researchers feel valued, are treated equitably with respect, compassion, understanding, and are actively engaged in healthcare processes and decisions. In odd numbered years, alternating with EACH, ACH hosts the International Conference on Communication in Healthcare.
National Voices: professional member
EACH is delighted to have become a professional member of National Voices. National Voices is the coalition of health and social care charities in England and, as the national umbrella group, have done tremendous work in promoting person centred coordinated healthcare in the NHS.
EACH has a collaborative relationship with WONCA: the World Organization of Family Doctors. The Mission of WONCA is to improve the quality of life of the peoples of the world through defining and promoting its values, including respect for universal human rights and including gender equity, and by fostering high standards of care in general practice/family medicine. And this includes communication and professional-patient relationships.
EACH and WONCA have been working together in projects with shared aims and complementary expertise. Examples are a combined training as part of a major health policy reform in Primary care in Moldova in 2016, and train the trainer workshops for family doctors in Japan to improve assessment and management of depression in 2018/2019.
Funding for the charity’s core activities and projects come from charitable and voluntary donations, membership fees, conferences, courses, and a guaranteed royalty from our publication partner, Elsevier. Many of EACH’s activities are also supported by contributions in kind.
To prevent any potential conflict of interest, EACH has an agreed policy not to accept funding from the pharmaceutical industry for any of its activities.
